So I have been really busy this Summer so far catching up with friends and taking some much needed time off which I have really been enjoying. It has given me the opportunity to hang out with my little family and some friends who have also been lucky enough to get some of their vacation time over the Summer.

See this little kitty over there? She's our new kitty we have rescued and we are thrilled to have her here with us. She has taken to sleeping in bed with my son who is totally thrilled! Anyway, whilst we have been off my son has also fallen in love with some new iPad games. Firstly is catapult king and we have had some sneaky in app purchases happen there. However, they were cheap and I am incredibly lucky as I have read stories about parents getting bank statements with hundreds of pounds of in app purchases on them. The other game that he is loving is Ice Age and you basically create your own little village and collect money, acorns and points. Whilst entertaining I think it is really important to cover some safety tips for people with kids who like these kind of games:

1 If you allow your child to use an iPad then TURN OFF in app purchasing so they can't then pay £69.99 for thousands of acorns for Scrat (prehistoric rat thing in Ice Age0

2 If your child is a little older then why note create their own iTunes account which you can load up with money (from an iTunes voucher) and then, once they have spent their iTunes allowance you won't get any nasty shocks!

3 Make sure you know what your child is up to on the iPad. There are lots of games and other content that you might not consider to be suitable for your younger children so always keep half an ear and eye on what they are doing!

Lastly, it's the Summer and we don't get much of one so make sure you don't waste the whole time indoors on your iPad!
